Overview

The Vocational Training Case Manager provides case management services to refugees and other ORR-eligible populations with a focus on vocational training, skill-building, and career pathway development. This position supports clients in accessing training opportunities, overcoming barriers to participation, and moving toward long-term employment and self-sufficiency.

Purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive case management services that empower newcomers to successfully integrate into their communities. By delivering individualized support, connecting clients to essential resources, and facilitating access to higher levels of care when needed, the Case Manager plays a critical role in helping refugees achieve stability and long-term self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Enroll eligible clients into vocational training programs and provide orientation and on-going case management services throughout the service period
  • Conduct skills and needs assessments to determine appropriate vocational training opportunities aligned with clients’ career goals
  • Assist clients with developing individualized vocational training plans, including identifying training providers, application completion, enrollment, and ongoing support
  • Monitor clients’ participation and progress in training programs, addressing barriers such as transportation and language access.
  • Provide job readiness support, including resume development, interview preparation, soft skills coaching, and workplace culture orientation
  • Collaborate with training providers, employers, and community partners to create and maintain vocational training pathways that lead to employment opportunities
  • Advocate for clients with training providers and employers to ensure equitable access and successful outcomes
  • Coordinate supportive services such as ESL, digital literacy, financial literacy, or wraparound services to strengthen client success
  • Complete all case notes and program documentation with accuracy and timeliness; ensure data entry in agency and state funder databases
  • Provide or arrange safe, supervised transportation for clients to training, testing, or employment-related activities when needed
  • Represent CWS Dallas in community meetings, partner collaborations, and outreach to expand vocational training opportunities
  • Identify and build referral resources to support vocational training and client self-sufficiency
  • Serve as an advocate for clients’ vocational development and integration into the workforce

Perform other related duties as requested by the Office Director and/or Associate Director of Integration Programs

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Experience: 

 

  • Minimum of 3 years' work experience in vocational training, workforce development, or social services preferred. Prior experience with refugee resettlement case management or direct client services strongly desired  

 

Skills:

  • Strong case management and interviewing skills, cultural sensitivity, ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment, and effective communication with clients and external partners.

 

Other Skills: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural team setting
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle

Special Requirements

  • Must complete motor vehicle record check
  • Must be willing and able to travel within the community
  • Mileage accrued while executing work responsibilities is reimbursable by CWS
