Purpose

The Associate Director, Training and Engagement is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of training and technical assistance programming for the Refugee Welcome Collective (RWC) and other CWS programs. This includes managing budgets, developing, and maintaining partnerships with relevant stakeholders, and ensuring that training and technical assistance programs are meeting their goals and objectives. The Associate Director for Training and Engagement is also responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of training and TA efforts and making recommendations for improvement. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential in this role.

 

The Refugee Welcome Collective is a community sponsorship (CS) technical assistance (TA) and training provider funded by the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) to improve outcomes for refugees resettled through the U.S. Refugee Admissions program by building capacity and expanding community sponsorship. The Refugee Welcome Collective collaborates with partners to provide in-depth training programs, weekly learning sessions, learning resources, and on-demand technical assistance for sponsors, community sponsorship staff, refugees paired with sponsors, and community and institutional partners to support quality community sponsorship programs across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic and work plans to meet training and TA needs across RWC community sponsorship programs
  • Develop and implement program standards of procedure to ensure high quality program delivery across training and TA, including peer learning
  • With other staff on program implementation, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Oversee the development of training and technical assistance materials, including live and e-learning training material, supports and follow-up given as part of one-to-one and group technical assistance sessions, peer learning, and TA case notes
  • Facilitate training sessions in collaboration with trainers and TA providers, and provide technical assistance to a small case of private sponsorship groups
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training and technical assistance efforts, and make recommendations for improvement based on data and feedback
  • Manage budgets and resources for training and technical assistance across RWC’s community sponsorship training and technical assistance programs, including peer learning activities
  • Support proposal development and liaise with potential donors.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Ensure program compliance and lead program reporting related to training and TA
  • Represent the RWC at relevant stakeholder meetings to present on training and TA related efforts
  • Stay up to date with community sponsorship program models, best practices, and policies in the US and globally

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience required.

This position is a remote role with some in-person responsibilities related to meetings or onsite technical assistance visits. Remote employees must be able to fulfil the following conditions:

 

  • Ability to maintain secure and appropriate personal work environment for day-to-day work
  • Access to strong and reliable internet access
  • Ability to adhere to CWS data security policies and protect sensitive and personally identifiable information
  • Regular work hours must span core business hours 10AM-4PM Eastern time
  • Close proximity to U.S. airport and ability to travel to attend CWS and external meetings, conferences and other in-person engagements.
  • Must use CWS provided equipment such as laptop and cell phone
