Purpose

Oversee the implementation of resettlement and integration programs for refugees, asylees, asylum seekers, and other humanitarian immigrants across northern NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Build a strong evidence base across all programming using reliable data.
  • Provide technical oversight and support for establishment and maintenance of routine monitoring systems, presentation of findings and building related staff competencies
  • Ensure the collection of accurate client outcome data
  • Refine data and information collection methods
  • Communicate the impact of proper data collection to CWS Jersey City team
  • Utilize data to communicate program outcomes to external stakeholders
  • Use data visualization and qualitative stories to demonstrate program impact to various audiences
  • Ensure all personal identifiable information is held to the highest confidentiality standard.
  • Manage and improve documentation and data quality systems, including physical case files and online databases.
  • Ensure efficient systems in place for program staff to collect and compile relevant and concise information for routine project reports and occasional special reports as required
  • Collaborate with CWS headquarters working groups on outcomes and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Develop evidence-based logic models for future program growth and development
  • Coordinate with donors to ensure timely and accurate program reports, including financial reports.
  • Provide accurate office financial information to Office Director for office budget planning purposes.
  • Communicate clear expectations to staff, set annual performance objectives, provide regular and timely positive and constructive performance feedback, and provide documented semi-annual performance reviews.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of donations received, in-kind items provided to clients, and records related to match-eligible contributions.
  • Supervise case management programs in accordance with the cooperative agreements.
  • Prepare program staff for monitoring visits.
  • Support fundraising efforts on the local and national level to enhance programs for refugees, asylees, and asylum seekers.
  • Facilitate local community consultation meetings with the Office Director.
  • Participate in regular meetings with donors, including the New Jersey Office for Refugees.
  • Collaborate with the Office Director to design a sustainable office structure.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent.

 

Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience administering refugee resettlement and/or US Immigration programs and related activities. Two years professional grant writing and contract management or program evaluation experience, preferable experience working with churches or church-based organizations.

 

Other Skills:

  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, database and Web-based applications.
  • Strong organizational, diplomatic and priority-setting skills.
  • Strong management skills, including experience in staff supervision, performance appraisal, conflict resolution and administrative oversight.
  • Strong budgetary skills.
  • Energetic individual with clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to travel as necessary, sometimes on short notice.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Good understanding of the State of New Jersey funding procedures
  • Self-starter.
