The Welcome Team Coordinator Program Assistant is part of the CWS Greensboro Community Engagement Team. Under the supervision of the Community Engagement Manager, this position works closely with Volunteer Specialists and the Development Team, and is fully responsible for coordinating the Welcome Team’s activities. This individual will develop and implement bold and innovative approaches to cultivating and strengthening community partnerships and increasing the profile of CWS Greensboro. Duties include coordinating home set-ups for arriving refugee families, coordinating Welcome Team volunteers, coordinating and collecting in-kind community support for refugees, conducting outreach and facilitating presentations to educate various community groups, and representing CWS Greensboro during community activities and events.
Education: Associate's degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
Experience: 2 years of experience in a non-profit setting. Cultural sensitivity is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be comfortable with public speaking.
Other skills: Must have outstanding personal communication style, interpersonal judgement, and the ability to produce high quality and compelling material. The ideal candidate must be a quick study of CWS Greensboro’s past successes and future opportunities, and must be highly entrepreneurial, resourceful, and creative. Must have excellent leadership skills and a strong ability to maintain and grow relationships while working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate must be computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Access) and internet applications required.
