The Job Readiness Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the daily operations of the job readiness area, with the goal of preparing clients to enter the workforce. This includes identifying eligible clients; coordinating with the CAO on referrals and overseeing intakes; promoting CWS employment program with local employers; supporting workforce development; overseeing career pathways and employer engagement programs and overseeing ESL classes for clients. The position includes staff oversight duties and reports to the Economic Empowerment Manager.
Essential Duties as Job Readiness Supervisor:
Common Duties:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Two years’ experience in refugee resettlement is highly preferred.
Experience: Work experience and interest in refugee resettlement or other direct social services. Ability to provide culturally-sensitive counseling and case management is required. Staff supervision experience is preferred.
Other Skills: Fluency in a refugee language (Nepali, Burmese, Chin, Karen, Swahili, French, Spanish or other) is preferred along with superior written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate must be computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and Access) and internet applications. Strong organizational and time management skills are required. Must have a car and a valid driver’s license.
